Dual Sidewall Designs
Each Grappler has two sidewall designs so you can choose how your tires look. On the Mud Grappler, one side has lizard skin side lugs and the other has plain side lugs. This feature was an engineering feat since even a small weight imbalance can cause unwanted vibrations. Nitto produces exceptionally uniform off-road tires even with different designs.

Aggressive Sidewall Lugs
The sidewall design is as important as the tread pattern for maximum off-road performance. The Nitto Mud Grappler mud terrain tire has one of the most aggressive and functional sidewall designs on the market. The massive lugs provide additional biting edges, which is especially helpful in rocky terrain. The additional depth also provides punctured resistance.

High Void Ratio
The high void ratio between the tread blocks efficiently clears mud and dirt from the pattern to provide excellent traction in extreme terrain.

Puncture Resistance
The three-ply polyester sidewall construction and high strength steel belt tread package improve puncture resistance.

Off-Road Traction

Trail Grappler

Dual Sidewall Designs

On the Trail Grappler one side has stylized lettering with V-shaped buttresses and the other has traditional lettering with flat buttresses. This feature was an engineering feat since even a small weight imbalance can cause unwanted vibrations. Nitto produces exceptionally uniform off-road tires even with different designs.

Tread Block Arrangement
A common complaint with mud terrain tires is their noise level. Nitto’s engineers set out to design an aggressive — and yet quiet — off-road tire. Using 3D computer simulation, Nitto’s engineers were able to systematically adjust the size, shape and position of the tread blocks. As a result, Nitto produced an off-road tire that is 34% quieter at street speeds and 36% quieter at highway speeds.*

Terra Grappler G2

Treadwear Warranty
Terra Grappler G2 features a brand new compound new to Nitto’s Grappler line of products. Through the introduction of new materials, Nitto was able to maintain the versatile all-terrain compound while increasing the longevity of the treadwear. For the first time Nitto is backing an all-terrain product with a limited treadwear warranty which covers 50,000 miles for LT-metric and floatation sizes, and 65,000 miles for hard metric sizes.

Coupling Joints
Nitto decided to reinforce the coupling joints in the Terra Grappler G2, which connects the outer most tread blocks to the center blocks, to increase the block edge rigidity.

Full Depth Sipes
Terra Grappler G2 is equipped with full depth siping. Not only do the full depth sipes offer a functional benefit, it helps maintain the appearance of the tread design as the tire wears.

Shoulder Lugs
The staggered shoulder lugs on the Terra Grappler G2 provides additional biting edges in off-road conditions. Further more, the new sidewall designs connects the sidewall lugs starting from the shoulder block down to the middle of the sidewall surface.

The computer analyzed tread block arrangement reduces tire noise normally heard at highway driving speeds.

Dual Sidewall Designs
The Terra Grappler G2 features two distinct and bold sidewall designs. One side features homage to the original Terra Grappler design by incorporating a similar thunderbolt pattern which has been raised to give it a more aggressive look than its predecessor. Winter Performance
Rated with the 3-peak mountain snowflake for winter driving conditions, the Exo Grappler’s sipes and large lateral grooves provide biting edges as well as water and snow/slush evacuation. These tread features are combined with a new durable compound that allows for traction in freezing temperatures. NT01 D.O.T.-Compliant Competition Road Course Tire

The NT01 offers varying degrees of competition performance. The tire is molded at 6.3/32nds of an inch with large continuous tread blocks and sweeping lateral grooves. This set up can be easily shaved down to 3/32nds of an inch tread depth to function as a race slick with twin circumferential grooves.
